Office of the Principal

Hello Raider Nation!  My name is Julie Center and I am the proud Principal of ELPS.  

I was born and raised in Columbus Texas, so I am happy to be "home".     After graduating from Columbus High School, I attended Texas A&M-Kingsville and earned my Bachelor's Degree in 2002 with a concentration in Kinesiology and Special Education.  I obtained my Master's Degree in 2006 with an emphasis on School Counseling.     This will be my 22nd year in education.  I have served students over the years as a Coach, Special Education Teacher, Counselor, Vice Principal, and Principal.  I am most excited about being the Principal of this amazing school.     I am married to Kenny Center who is the Superintendent of Rice High School.  We have a son, Easton, who will be a Senior at Rice High School and a daughter, Shelby, who is in her last year at  Texas Tech University.     It is an honor to be a part of the Rice Consolidated School system and I will work tirelessly for the success of all students.
